Mirroring the size and design of Tibet’s historic Gyantse Kumbum stupa, The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion in Bendigo stands proudly at a soaring height of 50 meters, extending across seven levels, all atop a substantial 50 square-meter base.

The stupa is a sacred monument in the Buddhist world and represents an enlightened mind and the path to enlightenment. Beautiful gardens surround the Stupa and the Peace Park showcases symbols from many faiths including Catholic, Sikh, Islam, Hindu and Buddhist.

Crafted from an immense boulder of nephrite jade, this impressive four-tonne jade Buddha, valued at over $1 million, emerged from the heart of the Yukon, located in the distant northwest of Canada, nearly two decades ago.

Embarking on an extraordinary journey, this remarkable statue has traversed 135 cities across 21 countries, captivating an estimated audience of 11 million people as part of a profound fundraising and awareness tour. Today, it finds its revered abode here.
