Ferntree Gully Quarry Reserve

We reached here by chance during one of the 25 km restrictions during the Covid 2020 lockdown. Ferntree Gully Quarry Reserve is located in Knox and is set at the base of Dandenong Ranges National Park. It’s scenic and ideal for a great day out with kids.

There is plenty of open space for a picnic, shed area and lots of nature-based play zones including tunnel slides, timber walk zone and even a barbeque.

For walk enthusiasts, there is an amazing concrete walking path (600m) that winds down to the lakeside boardwalk and shelter or you can reach down via the multiple level stairs.

Reach Via Train: The suburb is on the Belgrave railway line and it takes between 42 minutes (stopping all stations and then express service from Box Hill) to 60 minutes (all stations service) to Flinders Street, CBD.
