Lake Narracan is the largest freshwater lake in Victoria that does not serve as a domestic water storage and is an ideal spot for fresh water fishing.
Lake Narracan is an artificial lake on the Latrobe River and was built between 1959 and 1961 to supply cooling water for the nearby brown coal-fired power stations. Today this place offers a serene escape, perfect for boating, fishing, and unwinding amidst nature’s beauty.

During winters, the water levels are quite low but during summers, the place is brimming and used for recreational purposes such as power boating, canoeing, waterskiing, jet skiing and sailing. Enter via the jetty near Lake Narracan Caravan Park.
