Maple Ridge Cottages are located near Dumbalk, a farming community that sit beautifully positioned overlooking the rolling hills and valleys of central South Gippsland. Dumbalk is located approximately halfway between Mirboo North and Meeniyan and is an easy daytrip from Melbourne.

We have been exploring South Gippsland region in recent times and there’s something magical about it everytime we travel. For me it’s the way morning mist clings to rolling green hills, and how the region seamlessly weaves together wild adventures and gentle pleasures. After discovering all that South Gippsland offers, we’ve found the perfect place to unwind when your day’s adventures come to an end.

Maple Ridge Cottages are set on five pristine acres that invite exploration; whether you’re taking an evening stroll through the grounds or simply relaxing on your deck watching local wildlife emerge at dusk.

The bushwalking experience here isn’t just exercise but meditation in motion. We’ve spent countless mornings wandering through ancient fern gullies and discovering hidden waterfalls in the Strzelecki Ranges.

The region’s cellar doors are also quite popular and vintage. People are friednly and open to share personal stories, times of changing season and also tips on the art of winemaking. No wonder South Gippsland wines are gaining recognition far beyond Victoria’s borders.

And then there’s camping. Whether you prefer the coastal camping spots near Wilsons Prom or the secluded bush sites inland, falling asleep to the sounds of native wildlife is an experience that resets your soul.
